Today, there is a program in California that provides low cost health insurance for children. It includes pregnant women, it also provides dental and vision coverage. But more than half of the eligible families haven't even signed up! Instituted in 1998, the Healthy Families program was established to help working families in California provide adequate health care for their children.  To date, the program has enrolled more than 200,000 children throughout the state.

The program was recently expanded as it now includes families of four with incomes up to $41,600. This means that 300,000 additional children in California are eligible to have access to comprehensive health care.

Senator Feinstein has begun a public service campaign on radio and television to raise awareness for families eligible to participate in this important program.
