Applications for the Positions of U.S. District Court Judge, U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Marshal
The Constitution gives United States Senators responsibility for
providing advice and consent to the President on federal judicial
nominations. One important part of this role is that Senators recommend
individuals to the President to serve as U.S. District Court Judges, as
well as U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals.
Senator Feinstein has established a Judicial Advisory Committee in each
federal district to review candidates for the positions of U.S. District
Court Judge, U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Marshal. If you are interested in
learning more about the Committees, you can find information about them
here.
Senator Feinstein’s committees are accepting applications on
an ongoing basis for U.S. District Judge positions in all four of
California’s federal districts. Applicants are advised to apply now
and not to wait for a vacancy to arise.
If you are interested in being considered, please fill out the
application form on the right side of this page and send six copies to:
Mr. David S. Casey, Jr.
Statewide Chair
Feinstein Judicial Advisory Process
110 Laurel Street
San Diego, CA 92101
Committee members may place calls
to inquire about candidates, so please indicate on your application if
you need for your application to remain confidential.
If you would like to recommend a candidate for a U.S. District Court,
U.S. Attorney, or U.S. Marshal position, please send a letter of
recommendation and five copies to the address listed above.
Please see Senator Boxer’s website for information on the recommendations for which she is responsible.
