Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on reports that Turkey may have evidence that Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul:

“The world has watched with disbelief as reports emerge about the apparent killing and dismemberment of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

“The United States must send a message that this killing will not go unpunished. As for me, I will not vote to support any arms sale to Saudi Arabia at this time nor will I support U.S. assistance for the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

“For any country to feel emboldened to kill a man in this manner speaks to a breakdown in international norms that must be addressed. We must strongly rebuke any government that would kill an individual in its own consulate.”
