“The inaugural launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was an enormous success that leaves no doubt about the fact that California will continue to lead the way for technological innovation and space flight in the 21st century.

 Thanks to this landmark achievement, a test version of a Dragon capsule capable of ferrying astronauts to and from the International Space Station is now circling the earth, providing us with a glimpse of the future of space transportation. I wish to congratulate the many SpaceX employees in California, and across the United States, who made this pioneering effort possible and successful.”
