Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein released the following statement on reports that President Trump is considering pardoning accused and convicted U.S. war criminals:
“Reports that President Trump is considering pardoning several service members who have been accused or convicted of war crimes are very troubling.
“If he follows through, President Trump would undermine American treaty obligations and our military justice system, damage relations with foreign partners and give our enemies one more propaganda tool. America is better than this.
“As Memorial Day approaches this weekend, I strongly urge President Trump to take no action on these pardons.”
