Press Releases

Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement after the Federal Aviation Administration called for an environmental assessment to be completed before flight plan changes at the Hollywood Burbank Airport are finalized:

“I support the FAA’s decision to conduct an environmental assessment of its proposal to amend flight paths at the Hollywood Burbank Airport.

“The proposed changes have raised serious concerns about the effects of airplane noise in the area, and a thorough assessment should be completed before any changes are finalized.

“While the environmental assessment will address the long-term issue, it doesn’t address current noise complaints. I ask the FAA to work with my office, other elected officials, community groups and the Burbank and Van Nuys airports to find an immediate solution to this problem.

“Establishment of a community noise roundtable, which I called for last week along with Senator Harris and Representatives Sherman and Schiff, would serve as a good forum to facilitate these discussions.”
