Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today issued the following statement on California extending the state’s cap-and-trade program through 2030:

“California has once again shown the world that we have the strength and courage to lead the charge on climate change.

“Congratulations to Governor Brown and all the state legislators—Republicans and Democrats—who came together seeking compromise, embracing realistic solutions and legislating a program to cut our emissions by 2030 to 40 percent below 1990 levels.

“California’s success should inspire people throughout the world to realize that victory on climate change is still possible.”
