Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the Senate’s failure to extend emergency unemployment insurance benefits:
“I am frustrated the Senate failed to advance an extension of emergency unemployment benefits. With long-term unemployment at its highest point since World War II, these delays are simply unacceptable.
“Already, more than 220,000 Californians have lost access to this vital lifeline, and hundreds of thousands more will follow unless an agreement is reached. It is incredibly disappointing that this all-important extension has been derailed by more partisan squabbling.”
