Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the Trump administration’s plan to roll back the Clean Power Plan:

“President Trump’s decision to replace the Clean Power Plan with weaker rules governing power plant emissions is the latest in a string of terrible decisions that undermine our fight against global warming, lower our quality of life and endanger lives.

“This decision, combined with his earlier move to undermine emissions guidelines for the transportation sector, mean the president has now blocked the EPA from protecting Americans against half of our country’s emissions.

“President Trump consistently chooses the most destructive policy options in order to line the pockets of rich industries and their lobbyists. It’s clear the president has no interest in protecting the planet or Americans from global warming, and it’s a strong indictment on his total lack of leadership or foresight.”
