Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the passing of Beau Biden:

“My heart goes out to Beau Biden’s family. He was a selfless public servant and a great American, and he will be greatly missed.

“Whether through his service in the National Guard or his years as Delaware’s attorney general, Beau always cast an eye toward helping others. He set a fine example for us all, and his death is tragic beyond words.

“I know Joe Biden took enormous pride in Beau, and his loss will be felt deeply. As a colleague of Joe’s in the Senate, I learned firsthand of his strength and warmth. Now that both are needed for his family, I know they will be there.

“I feel great sorrow for Beau’s wife Hallie and their children, Natalie and Hunter. They more than anyone know just what a special person he was and how many lives he touched. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Biden family in their time of grief.”
