Press Releases
Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed B. Todd Jones as director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives:
“Opponents of commonsense gun-safety measures often argue that we must enforce laws already on the books—today’s confirmation of Todd Jones to head ATF means we finally have a leader to help do just that.
“ATF plays a vital role protecting communities from violent criminals, drug cartels and terrorists. Unfortunately, the agency has become unfairly politicized in recent years. I believe that for ATF to be effective, it needs every tool available to fulfill its mission—and that includes a well-qualified, Senate-confirmed director. I look forward to working with Todd Jones in his new role.”
