Feinstein Statement on Matt Olsen
Jul 10 2014
Washington—Following the announcement that Matt Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), is resigning, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement:
“So much of the intelligence community’s work is unseen by the public, so I am particularly pleased to recognize Matt Olsen for his success leading the National Counterterrorism Center. Matt served our country and the intelligence community with great distinction throughout his career.
“Matt’s service made our country safer. Under his leadership at NCTC, there have been no successful attacks against the United States homeland by foreign terrorists. This is an impressive accomplishment in an increasingly dangerous world. I also commend Matt’s service on the Guantanamo Review Task Force, where his painstaking work continues to guide our efforts to close the detention facility.
“Matt will be missed. I thank him for his service and wish him the very best for his future.”
