Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today issued the following statement in reaction to the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no replacement:
“The CBO has reaffirmed that repealing the Affordable Care Act with no plan to replace it would be an unmitigated disaster—18 million would lose their health insurance next year alone, and 32 million would lose coverage by 2026. Premiums next year would increase by 25 percent more than currently projected and would double by 2026.
“The picture painted by the CBO should convince every Republican senator that the only path forward on health care is to work with Democrats in an open process to improve the Affordable Care Act. The American people deserve nothing less.
