Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today announced that California Baby, a natural baby and children’s products company, has endorsed the Personal Care Products Safety Act.

Under the bill, introduced by Senators Feinstein and Susan Collins (R-Maine) in April, ingredients would be evaluated for their safety in children’s products. For example, the Food and Drug Administration may conclude that a certain ingredient is not appropriate for children’s products, or is only appropriate in smaller concentrations.

“Parents want to know the products they use on their children are safe. The Personal Care Products Safety Act includes strong new safeguards to protect children’s health and give parents the peace of mind they deserve,” said Senator Feinstein. “For the first time, ingredients would be looked at to determine whether or not they are safe for children. I’m grateful that one of the leading producers of natural baby and children’s products has endorsed this important legislation.”

“As a leading manufacturer in the natural baby skincare industry for over 20 years, we have worked hard to ensure our products are formulated with only the safest of ingredients while also utilizing the highest manufacturing practices,” said Jessica Iclisoy, CEO of California Baby. “In supporting the bill, we feel that our success helps illustrate to the industry that personal care manufacturers can operate at the highest standards and be successful.”
