Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the need to reunite families immediately:

“Once again, President Trump has created total chaos. The Trump administration has admitted it has no plans to reunite the more than 2,300 children taken from their parents, who never should have been separated to begin with. These families were torn apart without any idea how they would be put back together.

“This is yet another example of how out of touch President Trump and his advisors are. There is little regard for how these draconian policies affect real people, the cost to the American taxpayer or the well-being of children.

“The Departments of Health and Human Services and Homeland Security need to immediately present a detailed plan for how they will reunite children with their parents while complying with existing federal laws.”
