Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement after the Senate unanimously confirmed André Birotte, Jr., to the United States District Court for the Central District of California:

“The Senate today confirmed a highly qualified public servant to the position of United States District Judge for the Central District of California.

“Throughout his career, André Birotte has shown a profound commitment to fairness and the rule of law, and he has earned the respect of the diverse communities of the Central District.

“Mr. Birotte’s performance as U.S. Attorney has been exemplary, and I’m confident that his tenure as U.S. District Judge will be equally impressive.”

Feinstein recommended Birotte to President Obama for the Central District judgeship, which includes Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. She had previously recommended Birotte for the position of U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California.
