Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the effects of President Trump’s immigration policy.

“Under President Trump, 11 million undocumented immigrants are priorities for deportation, a heartless policy that betrays our country’s values. The effects of this shameful policy are increasingly visible in our communities, particularly among children who have been abruptly separated from their parents.

“It’s estimated that 1.5 million children in California have a parent who is undocumented. Tearing families apart has profound effects on children, making it more difficult for them to learn and develop emotionally.

“I stand with these California families and we will do all we can to keep them together.”
