Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the Los Angeles City Council’s vote to ban possession of gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds:

“Gun violence is an epidemic. It’s in our malls, our schools, our theaters and our streets. The Los Angeles City Council’s decision to ban possession of gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition is a bold and necessary step.

“From Newtown to Chattanooga, Santa Barbara to Aurora, we’ve seen the carnage that shooters who use guns with high-capacity magazines can cause.

“I’m deeply disappointed that Congress has failed to act, so it’s a bright light that the City Council in our second-largest city is taking such strong action. I encourage other cities to follow suit.”
