Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the nomination of Janet Yellen to be the next chairwoman of the Federal Reserve:

“Janet Yellen has the background, experience and knowledge to be a fine chairwoman of the Federal Reserve.  This is a precarious time for the global economy, so I am hopeful the Senate will move swiftly to confirm her as the first woman to lead the Fed and keep the economic recovery on track.”
