Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement opposing President Trump’s Keystone XL pipeline executive order:

“The president has called climate change a hoax—it’s not. What is a hoax is the claim that the Keystone XL pipeline will create permanent jobs or provide real energy security.

“In a characteristic rush to judgment, the president failed to consider whether the environmental risks are worth just 35 permanent jobs and no benefit to gas prices.

“The Keystone Pipeline is the wrong kind of infrastructure for America. What we need are investments in clean alternative energy that will help address the growing threat of climate change and actually put more Americans to work.”
