Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the USA FREEDOM Act, a bill to amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act:

“I have previously said that I support the NSA reform principles laid out by President Obama and have been waiting to see legislative language. Now that the House has passed by a considerable margin a bill to revise FISA, I am reviewing that bill carefully.

“I have spoken with the president who is urging the Senate to pass the bill as well, and I am open to considering the legislation when the Senate returns to Washington.”
