Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement after the administration announced changes to the Visa Waiver Program:

“I applaud the White House for supporting many of the security improvements that Senator Flake and I are proposing to strengthen the Visa Waiver Program and keep our country safe.

“We must do everything we can to prevent foreign fighters from exploiting the program. We must also increase the overall security of the visa waiver system by strengthening our intelligence sharing agreements with participating countries and collecting fingerprints and photographs before travelers board planes to visit the United States.

“We look forward to working with the administration to move this bill forward as quickly as possible.”
