Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the passing of Bishop Hamel Hartford Brookins, former pastor of the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Los Angeles:

“Bishop Brookins was a distinguished man who cared deeply for his community. He was a supporter and a trusted advisor of mine. I am saddened at the passing of this great man and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
