Feinstein Statement on North Korea Aggression
Apr 02 2013
Washington—Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on recent provocative actions by North Korea:
“U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is exactly right when he says North Korea's nuclear threats are not a game and that the current crisis has ‘gone too far.’ I share his deep concern that escalating tension increases the chance that force will be used, which would be a tragedy for all sides.”
“There is no question that the United States would respond if an ally was attacked, so this form of provocation cannot continue. I hope the White House will engage directly with North Korea to make clear that the United States does not want to use force, but that we will be forced to respond if the North Korean government decides to do so.”
