Washington—U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher:

“I had the pleasure of meeting Lady Thatcher in London. I will remember her humor, charm and kindness to my family. No matter your politics, Lady Thatcher was an invaluable ally to the United States in our joint battle against communism and totalitarianism. She was also the very definition of a strong leader whose historic election redefined politics for generations of women.”
